Although the weather was cool today in Chicago, the pollution levels were comparatively low except in the Suburban West and Northwest area were I and all the other O'Hare Airport neighbors reside. The AQI was 52 for CO (carbon monoxide) which is comparatively high. No wonder I had such trouble breathing today. It usually isn't that high unless we are having a weather extreme and ComEd has fired up the 24 coal burners. That is scarey. Also, has anyone else noticed that recently fruit purchased at the grocery looks beautiful on the outside but in as little as one day later it is completely rotten inside. What are they doing now??
In the current issue of the "AARP Bulletin" for senior citizens has, as it's main story, "Pills, Potions and Powders: Anti-aging Compounds With Dubious Claims Proliferate" by Carole Fleck, vehemently tries to frighten seniors away from natural medicine again. They even have the web address
for Quackbusters.
