MUM-OF-THREE Vanessa Feeney had her Nagor implants inserted in March 1989.

Within weeks, the 29-year-old's breasts became rock hard and she needed an operation to break up solid tissue.

During the next year, three pregnancies failed and she now suffers arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

Vanessa, of Stonehouse, had the implants removed in February 1998 but fears it was too late.

She was devastated when told by the Record of the findings by the inspection team on the Biosil plant.

Vanessa: "The doctors refuse to acknowledge chemical poisoning. They just pat me on the head and tell me I am a mystery.

"I cannot understand why the Government are allowing this factory to continue making these implants while they investigate the American report."

"The Government are lining their own pockets. They should totally ban the implants like other countries who have banned them.

"I wrote to Nagor in 1997 to ask why they were still selling implants that had been banned in America.

"They replied saying, 'no comment'.

Vanessa said the Government could now face a compensation campaign similar to that by women affected by the thalidomide drug.

She said: "It took 30 years for women to be heard over that and we could be facing the same situation. We will have the same fight on our hands."
