LANY’S HUSBAND TESTIMONY

LANY’S HUSBAND TESTIMONY

Dear Micheline and Tony,

My other half Lany25(Elaine) asked if I would send to you my letter to Senator Mary Landrieu. I am so honored to meet you and hope we may correspond in the future. I have seen the destruction first hand and have tried to make somewhat of a normal life for Eaine and myself but it is not easy by no means. I ache myself for the women lied to, and wish no more horror stories in the future for other women who are inocent and unknowing.

Your New Friend From New Orleans,

Dave

Dear Senator Landrieu,

My name is David Donnelly and I am the husband of Elaine Donnelly. She has been ill for the past eleven years. I consider my wife to be my soul mate, my other half and the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

When we first met, she told me that she had breast implants. I never really paid too much attention to that fact until she started having health problems. Not long after we were married she started having serious health problems. She had a headache behind her left eye that would never go away , she had constant nausea, and she had achings in all of her connective tissue. These symptoms barely even scratch surface of all of her physical problems. Needless to say my wife is miserable.

We went from doctor to doctor to find out what was going on with her health, but none of the doctors knew what was wrong with her. She still suffered from the same problems, and not one of the doctors knew what could be wrong with her. It was very disturbing to watch my wife suffer from something that seemed so illusive that even the doctors didn't know what was wrong with her.

After awhile her implants ruptured, and she had a red rash all around her breasts. She had emergency surgery to have them removed. I was so happy, because I had always thought that they might be the cause of all of her physical problems.

We were hoping that all of her physical problems would diminish with the removal of her implants, but that did not happen. Unfortunately, some of the chemicals contained in the breast implants are extremely toxic. Some of the chemicals are silicone, toluene and benzene, to only name a few. These chemicals are the ones that you see on the sides of train and ship tankers marked dangerous! They have also been deemed to be cancer causing agents.

We sought the help of physicians to diagnose Elaine's condition, but to no avail. She eventually became bedridden for days at a time. Because I love my wife, I will deal with whatever happens, and I will stay by her side. We still go from doctor to doctor to try to alleviate some of her pain, but to date nothing has helped. Her symptoms have increased ten fold. To watch her lay in bed day after day crying in pain is more than I feel that I can deal with.

I have had to deal with this breast implant problem longer than I care to, but I pray to God that the women who have these special problems are thought of in peoples prayers and minds. People should realize that these women were not given all of the information that they needed in order to make their life changing decisions. Many people look at this problem as one of the little man against the big man; sort of like David and Goliath. We all know that if we fight the good fight with legislators like you, we can win the big fight. These chemical companies are not thinking about the little people, they only think about how much money they can make! These people are not even thought of when they do their Profit and Loss reports or their Balance Sheets. Please think about helping these women to get some closure in this matter. They were lied to, and chose to do something that was really not that safe under the guise that it was perfectly healthy and cosmetically correct. Given the way that society reacts to cleavage, it's no wonder that so many women choose to have this procedure done.

Thank you for supporting silicone legislation in the past and I do hope you will continue supporting it in the future.

Sincerely,

David Donnelly
