Dear Mr. Hobbs:

Re: IBT No. 622-07911-Lifetime Carcinogenic Study with TS-1208

We are submittin our addendum report of the gross pathologic data prepared in the connection with subject study. The toicologic portion of the report dated September 5, 1979 was released to Mr. William F. Boley on September 6, 1979 for transmittal to you.

This report has not received a final comparison of the raw data with the final report because our Quality Assurance Unit has been discontinued in light of technical personnel depletions. In addition, IBT reports have been subject to a requirement by at least the United States Environmental Protection Agency, that if submitted to an agency the underlying data itself must be validated. Such validation would go beyound IBT's normal quality assurance review, in any event.

Despite the absence of a quality assurance review and raw data validations as EPA requires, we have decided to submit this report to you. We do not know whether your intended use of the report is such that these reviews are necessary and under the present circumstances it is not possible for us to complete either review. We did want you to be aware however, of the limited nature of the review which this report has undergone.

In the process of compiling recent reports, IBT management has learned that extra animals were used during the conduct of some studies. No information is presently availiable which would indicate the use of extra animals in this study. However, you should consider this possibility in your audit of this study. Management has also learned that the animals may have been treated with tetracycline during a portion of ht estudy in order to alleviate problems affected the health of the animals,

If you should have any questions, please call me.

Very truley yours,
