Three NovaMed Directors Resign, Including VP Dogan

Dow Jones Newswires

WASHINGTON -- NovaMed Inc. (NVMD) President Ruairidh Campbell is the sole remaining director on the board, following the resignation of three other directors, a company filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said.

NovaMed Director and Vice President Aydin Dogan resigned both his positions Monday, and Howard Bellin and Franz Schain resigned from the board Wednesday.

As reported, the Medical Device Agency of the U.K. Department of Health issued a "device alert" in connection with a recall of NovaMed's NovaGold breast implant product on Dec. 11.

The alert was issued after NovaMed's subsidiary Novamedical GmbH agreed to suspend the shipment or sale of NovaGold in the U.K. until the agency is satisfied with the biological safety assessment of the company's hydrogel filling material used in the implants.
