Well, for the first time in I couldn't tell you how long, I have

WONDERFUL news today.

I got a letter today and the committee that looks at your social security claim prior to going before the ALJ judge (this is a new process) has FULLY APPROVED my disability!!! And this is as of September 1998. That means that within 90 days I will get all my back social security (less the $4000 the attorney gets). But at least I get it and will continue to get some money every month. It's a far cry from what I made when I was working, but better than what I've been earning for the past two years (which was $0). And, this is the best part, as of Sept. 18, 2000 I will be eligible for Medicare so I will have SOME health coverage.

What they said about my illnesses was:

Primary biliary cirrhosis, Sjogren's syndrome, chronic erosive gastritis, Barret's esophagus, hiatal hernia, osteopenia, fibromyalgia, arthritis of the knees, incontinence, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, diverticulitis, adhesive bowel disease, collagen vascular disease, chronic wrist sprain, degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis with cervical and lumbar radicular syndrome, chronic hip pain, polyarthritis, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, post traumatic forearm, chronic obstructive lung disease and major depression.
