"Fed up with patients dying in doctor's surgery offices, the Florida Board of Medicine on Friday banned operations using general anesthesia for 3 months, despite protests from medical groups.
5 office surgery deaths since April are too many to write off to the normal risks of surgery, medical boards said.
4 of the deaths occurred during cosmetic procedures, 2 due to anesthesia. The ban gives the medical board 3 months to study the problem. We have to do something said Dr. Raghavendra Vijayanagar, a Tampa surgeon. "This is cometic surgery, elective surgery, these patients should come out more beautiful, not the way they are coming out."
I say it is about time!!!!!!!!! Audrey
