Wanted to share a couple of things as I will be off the internet for about 12 days after this week-end. It has been confirmed that my congress member, Kevin Brady (R-TX) HAS signed on to co-sponsor H.R. 1323 (the legislation that we are trying to get passed to provide awareness and informed consent to the public about these devices AND, to initiate research and understanding with the health problems they cause).

TO ALL SILICONE-CONTAINING IMPLANT SURVIVORS:

This situation with Congressman Brady is a perfect example of how ongoing letters, calls, and visits to our political representatives REALLY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! PERSEVERENCE PAYS OFF IN TIME. For three years, I have literally PLAGUED Rep Brady (from visits to Washington DC to visits to his local offices) to inform him of mine and my daughter's plight as a result of my defective breast implants. I have sent numerous facts, letters & photos, but I think the personal visits showing my "Before & After" photos (Before, when I was healthy then, After, my implant ruptured when I had developed over a half dozen serious immune illnesses) were the most impacting. We NEED more sponsorship from our Republican politicians to see this passed.

One thing that seems to hit home the most I think for our republican reps, is that billions of tax dollars are spent by the government each year, for women, children and men, who have become disabled after receiving these devices. We go from being VIABLE contributions to our society, to financial drains because we lose our ability, our jobs and our health insurance.

IF you have written, called, visited, or faxed your congress member and said, "Okay, I did my part," then, please know that to co-create a SHIFT in this thing, you will need to KEEP contacting your rep until he/she says "OKAY". In my case, I think it was more like, "Okay. OKAY ALRIGHT!!!. Know they got TIRED of hearing from me and all my friends and acquaintances who were in this district BUT, I also know that on behalf of my representative, he REALLY had no clue previously, as to the harsh REALITY behind the devestation that these devices cause. When we repeatedly presented him with studies by viable researchers and personal stories and cases of those of us harmed he really was appalled at the TRUTH and does sincerely CARE and want to do the RIGHT thing for his constituents (it's just that the implant peddlars spend MUCH more TIME & MONEY mis-informing him, and the rest of Congress). Hence, our voices & personal truths, can be PIVOTAL.

On one of my many interviews with FDA staffers (for my book), it was confided to me, that it is our CONGRESS which is the only true POWER that can change the serious problems with the FDA doing so little, to see that consumers are truly informed about implant dangers... In other words, YES, we do need to report to the FDA the problems we have had, but folks, that's the "back door", the FRONT DOOR is CONGRESS...and it is WE implant survivors & consumers, who ULTIMATELY put those people there, and determine if they stay or go. PLEASE, wield your ultimate POWER and continue to BLITZ your Senators & State Reps...together, We CAN Make A Difference. Tell them you expect to hear their decisions and will continue to check with them until then, let them know you VOTE accordingly, as do your friends.

Regarding the Documentary that Pat Wingate mentions below. Carol Leyva, the producer of this powerful film, is a professional documentary film maker living in New York City. She visited my husband and I here in our home outside of Houston, to interview me for the documentary and also, to interview my "favorite consumer advocate," Marlene Keeling. Carol is a PROFESSIONAL all the way and I have no doubt that once HBO or one of the Prime News Network shows get a glimpse of the 26 minute 'trailer,' that she will find a sponsor to complete the entire full length. Carol shot over 40 hours of interviews for it over 3 years (Phew I can relate here.). Her mom is a breast implant survivor in Florida who is also in the film as are; Marlene and her support group, Washington DC dynamo - Diana Zuckerman, and Diane Griffith, Kim Hoffman of Missouri, Drs. Harbut and Cambell, and the marvelous John Byrne, along with MANY others across the country. Anne Stansell's photos create a profound and emotional ending as they are featured over Carol's closing comments and music.

Ladies & Gents, we must put our energy and prayers forth, in helping Carol to find sponsors & funding to finalize this beautiful film to it's full length. DOCUMENTARY..Please Post

I just spoke with one of the women that works on various projects but this one is very special for it is a documentary on Victims/Survivors and the REAL Horrors of Breast Implants.

So far, there is 26 minutes done on it adding music in the background and it will take another $40,000 to make it one hour long. Dr.s with impeccable backgrounds such as Dr. Campbell, etc. does a splendid job for the masses.

I thought if each of us could send $1 or $5.00, we could get the show on the air. I don't ask favors but in this case, I beg all of us to try and get this thing completed.

Love and Light is the key. We WILL WIN this thing! Already the public is becoming more aware because of our endless devotion to TRUTH in it's ugliest forms.
